Introduction to English Composition Web-Based ClassFlorida State University will offer the first in its web-based program, Introduction to English Composition, at this fall's school year. A course is being taught online to those that cannot attend Florida State. The web-based class is not a face-to-face class as it is a classroom, but students can still have access to lectures and also interact with others via chat and message boards.
College students can use this opportunity to practice their essay writing skills. It is very important for them to know how to write an essay before they head off to college. It is the same for high school students. College students should know how to write a good essay so that they do not get into bad habits such as using irrelevant words, which can be damaging to the school paper they are going to submit for a high school senior English honors project. College students who take this course will learn how to study tips, revise their work, plot their projects and write essays in the class. Students will also learn about how to be more confident in their own writing skills. The curriculum has four sections. Students have the option of taking the class online or in a classroom. An instructor will teach the students about several topics including grammatical terminology, structure, themes, rhetoric and key vocabulary. This is the best way for college students to practice their writing skills. The students will learn by doing. The professor will provide a new essay to each student to do before moving on to the next topic. Each section is given a certain amount of time to complete the assignment and once the completion time is over, the student must then send a detailed report of their essay to the instructor, who will use it as a practice essay for the next section. The schedule for this web-based class is designed so that the college students can access the lessons from home. They can print out assignments when they are done. For online classes, the assignment can be sent through email and scanned into the computer, so there is no need to travel anywhere to write the assignment. The professor will always have the students' reference materials at hand. The student is free to go anywhere to complete the assignment without worrying about travel time. The final and longest part of the program is the classroom session, where the students will spend an entire day writing and completing their assignments. The main topics include grammar, spelling, argumentation, composition, style and other specific topics. The classroom session includes interactive games as well as other activities to help the students understand what they are expected to do with their assignments. There will be no face-to-face teaching in the classroom session. Students will simply follow the instructor's directions, though they will still be given the chance to ask questions. The essay topic will be assigned to the students before the class begins, so they will not be confused as to what they need to write about. If they cannot write an essay on time, they will have the option of changing the topic. That is the only way for the students to have some leeway, so that they can bring in their own topic of choice if it is something they know about. The Florida State University web-based class Introduction to English Composition is a great opportunity for college students who wish to improve their writing skills. It gives them practice in all the aspects of writing, which will be beneficial for them in their future careers. It is more affordable than taking a face-to-face course, as students can take it on a limited budget. Some college students, who could otherwise not afford to go to school for free, can take advantage of this opportunity.

SSAT Essay Topics - A Look at How to Prepare for Your SSAT EssayHaving a SSAT essay topic is an important part of an SSAT test taking experience. For most of the students that take their first test, it's a question as to how they'll deal with the stress involved and knowing that one will have to write about something before they even sit down in front of the computer screen could be a little daunting.
The most common problem for a student to face is writing for an hour straight for the test and that alone can be a very difficult task. The main problem that many students run into is that they aren't given sufficient time to learn what they need to know, so that's why many are struggling. To get a better idea of how you can increase your chances of getting the essay topics right, you have to first understand the topic. A student has to determine their objective with the essay topic because that is the only thing that they will find that will help them throughout the whole test. If a student's objective is to get a higher score, they should go with an essay topic that relates to the topic of the test. You don't want to tell students that they need to know everything about the topic. Once they have that knowledge, they will know how to answer questions and they will know more of the subject and thus have better chances of getting a high score. When a student is doing an essay on their own, they should just prepare a small outline for their section and a few examples to use. When they do research for the exam, they will want to find some example essays to use. This will give them a starting point to build on and therefore improve their scores. Every student should make sure that they get the section organized first before they actually start writing for the test. Once they have an outline, they should write each section and make sure that all the information is there. In order to make sure that the entire section of information is available, every student should take a few minutes to read through the outline and look at each section from top to bottom. By doing this, they can make sure that everything they are doing is presentable and is not too overwhelming. The students should make sure that they are using information that is known in the section. If the information is new to them, they can look to what others have written for the area. |
